OCTOBER IS HERE

The month of Canadian Thanksgiving, Halloween. Shorter days are becoming prevalent. Trying to wear those cotton clothes one more time before putting them away until next Spring. Deciding-is it a year to buy a new coat and boots? Visiting those farmers' markets knowing they will be closing soon and back to Supermarket buying! The beginning of each month always brings a time of reflection- what may this month bring! Dinner parties, birthdays, where to eat Thanksgiving, to do some baking or not! Even thinking about getting the Christmas shopping started if you have not begun already. I purchased some sale items over the summer to use. Cleaning the garage and cleaning up the garden! The leaves- yes the raking of leaves. Why can't they all come down at the same time! What will be my goals for the month? Right now the left over ones from September! What can I do for fun? Is there something special to consider?

  1. I get tired just thinking about all the things that should be done this month. Don't forget to make time for the annual flu shot.

Highest priority this weekend? Get the yard ready for winter, including storing outdoor furniture, clearing potted plants and turning the pots on their sides so that they dry out and don't freeze, storing garden hoses and tools, and bringing in those special plants that must be over-wintered in the heated garage. Second priority? Take time to get out and walk the dogs and do some more fall photography.
