NANA SAYS IF IT LOOKS LIKE A SMILE

It must be a smile! There is always a debate over newborns making smile like grimaces in their sleep and awake. It has always been said babies do not smile for weeks. Anyone with a newborn will beg to differ. "My baby smiled today!" is a common phrase of parents with a newborn. There will always be someone to tell you, "it's gas!" My question- does it really matter? Parents need to bond with their baby. The baby's survival depends on it. Babies are helpless! The bragging, the pictures, let me hold the baby are all essential. Babies need to be protected, fed, loved and to learn to trust the world. A smile is a social gesture! When that cute little face smiles back, it only increases the love! The best suggestion is to let the parents tell you about their baby. Look at the pictures. Be gracious. If they tell you their baby smiled for the first time, you just smile back and say " how precious is that!"
