There can be many warnings in our lives of things to come. A weather watch- severe storm coming. Pain in our bodies- warning there could be a health issue. Mother's voice- I warned you not to do that and look what happened! Sometimes the warnings we receive are just that- warnings, nothing happens. So we become complacent! It is hard to decipher which warnings to take as gospel and which ones to forget. Some cultures have many superstitions that read like warnings. Like today when taking to a family member- I did the knock on wood gesture. Why? Was it a warning not to jinx the situation? It actually is a useless thing to do. Who started the knock on wood to fend off bad luck? We all do it on occasion- but why? Do you heed warnings in your life?Thursday, May 5, 2011
