GRIEF IS A LONG JOURNERY

I love it when people tell others you need to move on.

Not.

The new buzz words are to move forward. aT your own pace.

You never stop loving the person you lost. But you do learn to live without the person reluctantly!!

Narrative Therapy tells us to restory the story.

Your narrative with the person changes. But the person is still part of your narrative.

The Canadian office for Narrative Therapy is Ajax. Check them out.

Finding ways to honour the person.

There are no real stages in grief. Time heals in various ways. The grief is not as raw.

But a new event can trigger the thoughts and it does feel like yesterday sometimes.

So the best advice. You will always miss the person. Depending on the relationship- whether child, mother, father, husband, friend, sister, brother!

Pictures help. Stories help. Talking about the person helps.

Another piece of advice. It is your grief journey. No one can tell you how to do it.

Are you missing someone today? Are you struggling with grief?
