A CANADIAN SUMMER LONG WEEKEND

As June winds down and school is out, many bags are packed with Canadians heading to Europe, the cottage or going on long road trips! The July 1st long weekend is always busy at all the airports across the country! Highways become busy with the deluge of people heading out of the cities! It is a time to review all the safety rules for adults and children around driving well, caution near the water and lots of sun screen! Summer brings up so many memories of fun times camping, picnicing and water skiing for me! As for the first long weekend- a day trip, writing, reading, relaxing, gardening, and some good eating- if I have the urge some decluttering and cleaning! Yes, buying an Alberta rose donut at Tim's to support the flood victims! How about you? What are you doing with this first long summer weekend? Are you headed somewhere?

  1. Yesterday, we did some shopping. Went to Toys-R-Us to get some gift for my grand-daughter, Jillian, turning two on Canada Day!

Also picked up some matchbox cars to add to our big toy box, used when the grand-kids come to visit. They seem to like any surprising additions we make to the 'loot box' for them to use temporarily.
