#33 BARB'S REFLECTIVE 150- CANADA'S TERRY FOX

Known for his courage and tenacity. Only 21 when after losing a leg to cancer, Terry wanted to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. Starting in Newfoundland April 12, 1980 he began his journey across the country only to stop in Thunder Bay. He was diagnosed with another cancer. He died June 28, 1981 at age 22.
Since his death, marathons, donations  and September Terry Fox days have raised more than $700 million for cancer research. The Fox family has always been involved in Terry's dream and carried on with his legacy. 150 celebrations would not be complete without Terry Fox's contribution to our country.
