WHAT IS CLASS?

So what is class? Chatting with a work mate recently, we both came to the conclusion one does not need money to have class. There could be different definitions. It conjures up a sense of being polite, saying the right thing at the right time, not having to speak one's mind all the time,not being rude, standing out in a crowd. Of course there are supposed to be different classes like the poor, the middle class and the rich. Still being classy does not mean wealth. We have all met people with class. They stand out-don't they? There seems to be character. Steadfast! Memorable! What words would you use to describe someone with class?
