IS SITTING BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH?


Apparently sitting too long is the new smoking, i.e. not good for your health. Someone always has to write a new study to tell us something we already knew. Where did the term couch potato originate? Well we have known for a long time that getting up and moving around helps to energize us. Clears the head and well keeps us awake. But is it really as bad as smoking, eating fatty foods and drinking too much! Hum- I think not. Most people fidget so their butt does not go numb. Some jobs and activities require sitting but also require thinking-so the brain gets exercised. My work has a combination of moving and sitting but not one for very long. Those that run around all day often blow out their knees! Well does life just catch up with all of us? If one lives long enough, one will get something! Hopefully just old age!
