A POSTCARD FROM THE GRAND RIVER ONTARIO

A fun day jaunt with the Social Club took us to the Grand River Cruises in Caledonia Ontario.
An hour and a half bus ride and we were there.
The Grand River runs through southwestern Ontario for 300 kilometres. Known as the Grand River Watershed, it is a vital resource.that flows into Lake Erie. If a fisherman, there are over 82 species of fish.
Our lunch cruise went 20 km up the river as far as Brantford before returning back to base. There was a Pow Wow competition on one side. the area is home to the Six Nations community.
We could go out on deck which made it easier to watch the scenery and listen to the wild life.
There were many people boating with swimmers in the water.
Look closer for the Heron.
The story of the Grand River Dinner Cruises can be found at their website.

I love to know that the efforts of one generation helps to establish a business that can be in the family for generations.
It was a fun day in a part of Ontario I had not visited previously.
