WEAR A POPPY-100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

I have poppies from other years.

I still like to buy some new ones every year to support the Poppy Campaign.

It is good to see so many people sporting poppies. On the news. In the street.

There are amazing poppy art installations.

On the news- St. John's  Anglican Church in Elora had local people make knitted yarn poppies. 100 people from the church knit.

However, they began to receive poppies from around the world.

700 knitted poppies later.

The curate at the church Rev. Judy Steers calls it " Peace in remebrance." Different meaning to different people.

An article was published in the Guelph Today. It was also featured on news stations.

Knitted poppies

Go to the link and have a look at the amazing installation.

As for me I will go to the local Remembrance Day service and put a poppy in one of the wreaths.

How about you? Do you wear a poppy?
