The truth and nothing but the truth! There is a church in Rome called La Chiesa della Verita. The church of truth. There is a huge face with an open mouth on one wall. The likeness is the above small souvenirs I bought on one trip to Rome. One puts their hand in the mouth if telling the truth nothing happens. If one lies then the mouth closes on your hand. It is rather funny to see tourists gingerly put their hands in the mouth almost expecting something to happen. So the truth is told. Too bad the same does not always prevail in reality. If we thought our hands would be severed would we always tell the truth?
