REMEMBERING OUR HISTORY

History tells us who we are as a people. In Canada we fought several wars to define ourselves. We are a kind nation with many humanitarian causes. Today as mentioned in yesterday's post, it is the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. There are many social aspects to the story. Soldiers lived with their wives and families. Where did they come from? What did they eat? Were there letters or stories? The Laura Secord story is always an interesting one. Learn about this important part of Canadian history and along the way you may learn something about yourself.
