NANA SAYS- HOW ARE YOU ENJOYING THE FAMILY DAY WEEKEND?

A winter bonus in Ontario to have another long weekend. Parents deserve a break. With all the snow there may be some outdoor activities locally that can be fun. Up the street from me there is a hill by the Library- Yonge and Major Mackenzie Drive. I love watching the children sledding down this hill. Simple old fashioned fun.
Since most stores are closed on Monday, a real opportunity to do something other than shopping!! Okay there is always online shopping. But taking the children somewhere other than a Mall.
Or there can be a PJ weekend. Enjoying the indoor routines differently. Board games. Crafts. Sorting winter to spring clothes. Yes get the children involved at a young age with household duties.
If able to get away to a lodge or even the Niagara area with its activities can make the weekend a short getaway for all.
If parents need some time together, don't forget the grandparents for a few hours or a sleepover to give a break. Cousin time together helps too. So one couple can be relieved while the other couple goes out. Then trade!
With the winter weather and all the havoc it has given the last week, less may be more. So some home cooked meals or those wonderful meals to your door that you make with all the ingredients ready for you to cook.
The wonderful movie theatre is always a good quick outing for families. Now with some where a reservation can be made makes it even more enjoyable.
For this Nana, I am here and willing to help. It is not work when time is spent with grandchildren.
