MAKING THE MOST OF JANUARY LOCKDOWN SCENARIO

I know.

We are not locked down. It just feels that way.

Told everyone will get Omicron. Well I don't buy it.

So staying home as much as possible. Only seeing immediate family.

Often with masks. Washing hands. Distancing.

We all know the drill by now.

So I am treating January like a usual January.

Cold. Indoor activities. Sort projects. Organize. Watch movies. Connect with people by phone, text and maybe a real letter or two.

Also trying to use up the food I have in the house. I would rather order in or do curb side pickup.

I wrote letters the beginning of the pandemic March 2020.

I am trying very hard to be positive.

However know of another death of someone who would not be vaccinated and died from Covid.

The number that I know about is mounting.

Vaccinated can still get sick from covid but usually does not lead to death.

So trying very hard not to be negative. But I just think now- accept the consequences of your actions. No vaccine and death seems so stupid.

Adolph was judged for being a smoker. So I find myself needing not to judge. Someone who is loved has died.

I am just so glad my family is sensible and vaccinated. The little ones will get their second dose soon. And the older family members are slowly getting their third dose.

So and so again. The never ending Covid story.

How about you? How are you handling the Covid crisis? Are you in denial and think it is a hoax? Are you vaccinated? Are you just tired of the whole thing?

NANA SAYS ALL I CAN GIVE IS LOVE AND SUPPORT TO ALL YOU PARENTS

 Nothing can be said.

Maybe a dream catcher to take away the nightmare.

Virtual learning really sucks for everyone.

For the students.

For the teachers.

But especially for the parents who are told to pivot.

How much bloody pivoting can they do?

Working from home with children schooled from home is more than tough.

Sure they have done it previously.

I want to find the right messages to say to my daughters and families.

Phony positivity really does not work.

Perhaps instead of a family hug. Each member gets to scream and say I do not want to take this anymore!! That quote from the movie!!

So all I can give is love and support to all the parents out there!! I can not honestly say I know what you are feeling! I did not have to work through a pandemic with children.

So I try to send friendly little texts to the grandchildren. Let them know I love them.

So love, support, maybe some cookies and a good scream will help!!

JANUARY BLUES HAPPENING YET??

January has some good points- An anniversary, family birthdays!

The time spent at home can be long and boring.

So with so many current restrictions finding things to do socially become tedious.

Oh yeah! Webinars and Zoom meetings preavail

Making phone calls to family and friends.

But I am concerned about my grandchildren and back to virtual learning. A real bummer for everyone.

So off to a good start. Cleaned my Secretary desk area and organized the variety of items I have.

The coins will be divided between my six. I figure by the time they look in their memory boxed some of the coins may be worth money.

I have a variety of sports memorabilia that may be of interest to them.

So with a radio playing on each floor I stay connected to the outside world. And well I can dance like no one is watching. Because no one is watching!!

SUNSHINE ON A WINTER DAY

No matter how cold it becomes when the sun is shining the day is definitely brighter.

Also parking a car with snow or ice in the sun allows the sun to melt it. No scraping.

Sometimes I just take a chair and sit by my sliding doors in the Family Room to catch some rays.

If I close my eyes and feel the heat I can pretend I am on a beach somewhere warm.

It is the same sun!!

For me right now I am trying to feel as many positive vibes as I can.

Energy is needed to keep going in life. Positive energy just makes it better.

So believing that life will turn a corner keeps my life positive.

So feeling the sun. Seeing the sunshine. Acknowledging it effects on us keeps the day brighter.

How about you? Does the sunshine help you get through the day?

READY TO PIVOT AGAIN- TOO MUCH

 We are good at coping.

Doing what we need to do.

But it sucks.

Another potential lockdown.

So hard on everyone. Especially parents who are also essential workers.

Trying to stay positive.

2022 OFF TO AN INTERESTING START

 Puttering.

Cleaning.

Sorting.

Setting some January goals that allow being home and safe from the ravages of Covid.

Yes the variant is milder if vaccinated. But folks I still do not want to get it. Sucks if you do.

My priorities are my family bubbles.

More time with the grandchildren safely.

The community groups will give me some areas of support.

I have not submitted photos to an online site for some time. So it is a goal to take some creative photos to send.

So small manageable areas to give some joy.

And perhaps more fun in the snow.

I am not sure what my opportunities will be.

I may just have to create a few.

No real resolutions.

Just carry on with what I have started and finish those projects.

So New Year.

New Month.

An well carry on!
