MERRY COVID CHRISTMAS 2021

Okay we all have covid fatigue.

So let's make the most of this Christmas in the safest way.

Will be doing a rapid test today before any family contact.

Not what I planned a month ago but today I will do with joy. Protect all!

So how to proceed cautiously and happily.

Thank you for my free kit.

I wish everyone well this Christmas!!

CHRISTMAS 2021 REQUIRES LOT OF WORK

 Christmas moozing along!

Along with outside hoopla, a good day to putter.

Declutter.

Iron the tablecloth for the dining room.

Do all the little preChristmas day preparations.

The meal can only be cooked on the day.

But the peripheral things can be done.

I putter. Have something to eat. Putter some more.

Have a snooze. Have a coffee.

Putter some more.

But I am getting things done at my own pace.

I do have more energy in the morning. So the lighter things are done in the PM.

Glad I shopped last week and got the extra items I needed.

Lineups at stores are daunting. So being home- no lineup.

And calm.

How are Christmas preparations going for you?

THE WINTER SOLSTICE-A SEASON TO REMEMBER

 The shortest day.

The longest night.

Then the sun returns longer every day.

For me. I remember a good friend Larry who died on this day.

Twenty years have gone by. But he is still so remembered and loved by his family and friends.

Christmas season brings out lots of emotions for many people. Remembering loved ones no longer with us can be so bittersweet.

Bitter they are no longer with us.

Sweet because we had them in our lives.

So as another season begins, reflect on all it means to you!

COVID FATIGUE- COVID DOESN'T CARE

 I get it.

I am tired of this covid pandemic too.

Very tired.

But Covid doesn't care.

Had my third dose.

Wear my mask.

Have a free test kit at home. Ordered two more online that I have paid for. So there will be lots in the family.

So I know Covid doesn't care. I guess it is up to me to care.

Care for me.

Care for my family.

Care for my community.

Care for those in the world that do not have the amount of vaccines, hospital capacity and well everything that privileged nations like Canada have.

So like the marathon just keep on running, doing, stay the course.

GLAD MY SHOPPING IS DONE

With the new restrictions and limits in stores even grocery stores I am so glad I shopped already.

I was going to wait to get my fresh veggies until a couple of days before Christmas but bought last week.

I like to get a fruit platter. Easier no cutting of fruit.

However if bought too early it can go funky. So a pineapple that needs to ripen. A small watermelon. A hard cantaloupe that needs to ripen too.

So there will be chopping but the fruit will be better and fresher for everyone.

I will be home and not with any crowds of any kind. So all is well.

For one person I sure have a lot of food in the house. Good thing there will be Christmas dinner with family.

WHAT IF WE DO NOT LIKE LEMONADE?

We are told if given lemons to make lemonade.

Well the proverbial question? What if we do not like lemonade?

Trying to stay positive about everything is exhaustive!!

When crap comes our way, well sometimes it is just crap!!

Sugar coating everything is annoying. It is okay not to be okay.

It is okay just to call it crap.

Even though I do like lemonade I just am not in the mood to drink any right now.

How about you?

THE HEALING BLANKET-PURPLE AND ORANGE WITH A TOUCH OF GREEN

A healing blanket is what they called it.

I make hats, scarves and blankets constantly.

I have a stash.

A blanket I had made with purple and orange and a little touch of green was on hand.

My daughter's friend had a family member who endured a long hospitalization needing to go to Rehabilitation for mobility issues. So I gave her a lap blanket/afghan to keep her warm. I am aware how cold patients become from long sitting periods.

I stated the colours of purple and orange are healing colours.

Guess what they named it The Healing Blanket! Sweet!

So I have made two more for future occasions when someone could benefit from a blanket of purple and orange.

I do find when crocheting these projects there is a peace and healing for me as well. Helping others allows one to help oneself.

Do you find making projects for others is therapeutic for you?
