A DREAM CATCHER IN THE WOODS

Dream catchers are interesting. They can be as different as the people who have them.

This dream catcher is in my den. Adolph bought it years ago. It has the wolf. His name Adolph means Noble Wolf.

The first dream catcher is a painting by the Chef Zach at a tasting I attended with Sonya in South Bruce Pennisula.

Although a very Canadian or should I say Indigenous symbol, Adolph bought his dream catcher in a market in his hometown of Cassino Italy.

The whole symbolism of a dream catcher is fodder for another post sometime.

SEPTEMBER BEGAN WITH A PLAN

 What is the plan?

Well really to keep going. To keep doing. To cry a little. To laugh a little. I may cry more than a little though.

Finishing those craft projects. One afghan stitch blanket that has many pieces and squares to be sewn together is on the way.

To work through clutter corners of the house.

Even today some items to the Food Bank. If not using then give away for someone else.

An online course that will keep me busy for a few hours every week for 12 weeks.

Connecting with my social groups and doing some work for them.

Tired of the same TV shows I think I will check out some of the new ones. And of course craft while I watch them.

Need to do more than just going around and around in life!!

And the daughters and families need my backup support so Nana will be to the rescue. I do have my police check done from a year ago so can even go to the school setting if needed.

To try to beat this COVID-19 thing. So eat well, exercise, vitamins and all Public Health protocols. If I stay well then I help those around me to stay well.

Keeping busy with purposeful activities.

So not an exciting plan but doable.

What is your plan? Organized or go with the flow??

We are all holding our breath that the kids back to school will be safe, strong and mentally good for all- students, parents, teachers and all the support staff available.

So September bring it on!! But not too cold too soon okay??

TEN IS A GOOD NUMBER

A grandson turned 10. From single digit to double digit.

10 years married for some.

10 years at a job.

10 things off a bucket list.

The toddler counts to 10.

Losing 10 pounds.

TEN seems to be a good number with so many possibilities.

AUGUST ENDING AND THE SUMMER THAT WASN'T

Death of a spouse. COVID-19. Humidity.

The summer was different. Not fun. Not many outings. Mostly around home.

Family time was good. Lots of dinners and barbecues and a couple of grandchildren sleepovers.

And birthdays.

Working on 16 more masks for me and family.

Some fun photos. Some symbolic ones too.

So with September and the demands of the Fall, time to gear up and get busy.

If I have some schedule then it seems some things will get done. I pace myself as the energy is just not there.

It is easier to write and journal and get ideas out of my head.

How about you? How was your summer?

NANA SAYS WHAT A SCHOOL YEAR-PARENTS ESPECIALLY MOMS NEED UNPRECEDENTED SUPPORT

COVID-19 nightmares for parents to say the least. All parents need to step up not just the Moms.

As a grandparent, I am hoping to be the backup needed for my children, spouses and grandchildren.

To say it is overwhelming is an understatement.

To say it is stressful is an understatement. So many Moms I know have been feeling it in their bodies. The anxiety is paramount.

Decisions. Back to school. Online. Home schooling. Tough decisions are an understatement.

So let's dive in and face September together. With all the Public Health protocols.

Let's be there for the Moms in our lives. Let's hope the Dads are stepping up.

No judgement.

No criticism.

Let's keep COVID-19 away.

Let's be there positively for our little ones. Let's help their back to school be a good one.

MUSKOKA CHAIRS COME IN ALL WAYS

I loved seeing these chairs made with skis.

And now the plain ones.

In a variety of colours waiting for a meeting in a field.

I love Muskoka chairs.

NATURE GIVES US PEACE

A recent outing with my daughter was in Central Ontario beside the Saugeen River. Tasting food in the woods. Time for a quiet reflection.
