We all need to have our space. Boundaries give us some freedom to be ourselves. It is said fences make good neighbours. Some are high with electrical wires to keep out predators. Some are wood. Some are iron with holes so the view is not distorted.
They can be backdrops for a flower bed.
Compartmentalizing our lives can be important and fences help with that.

LIFE'S JOURNEYS BRING MANY THOUGHTS WITH IMAGES
Life has many paths. What we find in our journeys can be interesting.
Roads, trails, routes!
Near home or far away!
Many symbols can be found!
Some with boundaries!
Reaching new heights!
Shelter from the sun!
Images bring thoughts! Some adventures to be had! Not always necessary to wander far from home. Take time to stop and see around us! What images have you captured? What thoughts do they bring?

END OF OCTOBER IMAGES
Some Fall images stand out. A quick picture on a country road is one of my favourites. Always liked taking pictures of fences. Especially old barn board ones.
A gazebo is so inviting, even with a Canadian flag. Think of a speech or a wedding picture or a place out of the rain. Always wanted one in by backyard but it never happened.
A fence along a road. Housed some horses. Images can be found everywhere. So my thoughts may be reflecting- don't chain me, a place to meet or dance and don't fence me in!
What images are you capturing lately?

DON'T FENCE ME IN!
Fences are so meaningful. They create nice neat boundaries. Keeps our neighbours at bay! Allow for personal space.
They are everywhere. Different shapes and sizes.
Old barn board fences are still prevalent in Ontario.
Field stones make an interesting fence around an Anglican Church.
A city street lined with a fence.
A Fall walk is coming. Time to swish through the leaves as the trees discard their foliage!

FENCES GIVE US BOUNDARIES
Fences make good neighbours. In life putting up our own fences help us contain various aspects of it by keeping us focused. Separating work and home. Friends from acquaintances, Public and private thoughts. Sometimes fences needs mending like relationships. Deciding on what kind of fence. One that allows air. High. Low. Letting us see the view beyond our own existence. Nostalgic- like a white picket fence or black iron that is gated! Keeping others out but keeping us in. Fences can even help countries and become a wall like the Great Wall of China or the wall around Rome. What would your fence look like if you built one? Does you have a psychological fence around you?

DON'T FENCE ME IN!
Do you ever feel as if there are barriers to what you want to do? A fence can keep bad neighbours out but it also can limit us in our views of the world. It is a safe environment. Gives us boundaries which are often needed. Would having a gate give us the freedom to come and go in our lives? Perhaps, as long as it is not an excuse not to venture out into the world. It is said good fences make good neighbours! It can be said- don't fence me in!

FENCES MAKE GOOD NEIGHBOURS
Anyone that moves to a new subdivision knows the meaning of this saying. First there's the dirt, then the new grass and the realization there is no privacy. When the fence is installed, no matter how small the yard there is a sense of privacy and ownership. With little children in a home, there is the ease of space to run but not to run away- like the street which always has a pull for little children. If you live next to a hoarder, it gives a wall between the garbage and your own yard. People with pets can have them poop in their own yards and not yours. Fencing designs have evolved. My wooden fence looks so dated compared to the modern ones. It does the trick with all the tall trees now to give a place to escape the world- not the noise though with the sound of traffic from Yonge Street! Everyone can create their own space with individual imaginations. Do you have a fenced in yard? Does it give you the privacy you need? If you could have an ideal yard, how would it look? I still would like a gazebo!

FENCES MAKE GOOD NEIGHBOURS
Like fences setting boundaries in our lives can help keep our privacy.
Everyone has their own yard and way of doing things. I try to keep boundaries between work and home. Learning at a younger age that sharing too much with the world can bring personal harm. How many times how you shared with a work colleague issues that were personal and next you hear in the middle of a public situation something that is personal?
Put up a fence but one you can talk over and share what, when and to whom you want.
My personal code is keep private and confidential what work mates tell me. Then I can not be the one that breaks that confidence.
