As one thing ends, another begins. When God closes a door, he opens a window. Endings are scary as it just seems like an ending. Some endings are devastating. Some endings are planned. Nevertheless, endings bring trepidation. But if presented well, the new beginning will be available. Beginning a new life is scary too. Just start it one step at a time. One day at a time. Use the moments to be aware of the world around us. So are you facing a new beginning! Just keep going and see where it takes you.

JUNE- BEGINNINGS, BIRTHDAYS AND ENDS
June the month for weddings so many beginnings, Several birthdays in my family- two grandchildren, two nephews and my mother was born in this month. Ends- well school ends and coming up to one year of a Dad passing away. Of course school ends so everyone starting to look forward to the summer. Yes for me a job coming to an end. But beginnings and a chance to begin, work on and finish those many projects that need close attention. Oh June the month that brings the warmer weather and longer days! Must love it!
START AT THE VERY BEGINNING
Remember this line. Yes- the Sound of Music. Well as I tackle the events in my life, it is a good reminder to start and at the beginning. The trouble when life becomes overwhelming that the work looks unmanageable. But starting and doing something- beginning starts to make the job doable. Then the next job becomes doable. And Rome was not built in a day so no job that is big can be done in a day either. So are you going to start?

ENDINGS BRING NEW BEGINNINGS
Deciding to change or having change enforced brings anxiety and trepidation. Endings bring new beginnings. Not always welcome! Even planning for a move, a retirement, a new job, a new baby can bring concerns and strife. Stress of just living yet alone planning for something new is not always easy! Going from one decade to another- 40 turning 50! 9 to 10! No longer a one digit! Beginning can be exciting- a new marriage, a couple! Ending can be remorseful. Grief. Fear of the unknown. The new beginning may not be better but just new. Perhaps the best bits have already occurred. A whole family to pieces of a family! What remains may not be the best part! Living with good memories may not be enough! Wanting to do and create some new ones may not be possible. Health issues may get in the way. Trite sayings- be positive may only be annoying! Being there for someone going through a change. Allowing all the feelings that can occur even the negative ones. Change as we know is not always for the better- it is just change!

STARTING OVER
Seasons let us start over. Readying a field for a new crop. Cleaning and organizing our closet with our summer clothes. A new job! A new car! A new relationship! A new week! We start over many times in our lives without even realizing it. Each day we make a meal, clean up, do the dishes to start over at the next one! Sometimes we can feel stuck without trying to "start over"! Write that book! Take on that project! Get the camera and take photos for your flickr page! Each day, the dawn, the first cup of coffee gives us a chance to start over!

THE LAST TIME
We do something does not become the last time until it is over. For example, I eat outside as much as I can in the warmer weather. I do not know when it will be the last time for the season. The last time we see a friend. The last time we kiss a loved one good-bye can come without us even knowing it is the last time. When school ends, we know it is the end and September brings a new year. There are beginnings and ends that are predicatable. Christmas Day with all the lead up then it is Boxing Day. Prepare for next year. If someone ticks us off, we can quietly say well that will be the last time and gently not return phone calls or emails. Families have a way of creating last times. The last reunion, the last get together, the family funeral. Together for the last time. Coming together for the crisis then going our own ways without looking back! It was the last time I talked to him! The annual Christmas card but no real communication will be necessary. Sometimes someone has had the last time and did not really realize it! Like the date that seemed great but the person did not call back! I have no problem with goodbyes! Moving forward to people that are happy and healthy keeps me energized. In my life, I have weeded the toxic people. Someone told me I am too nice! However, even this nice person will not be rude but will quietly make it the last time for people that sap my positive feeling! I think I see the last time coming for several situations in my life right now! Some painful, some needed! Are you facing a last time right now? Have you had a recent event that surprised you as a last time? Are you moving forward to a first time with a new person or situation? Tell me your story.
