IN THE HOME STRETCH LET'S NOT RUIN ALL THE GOOD WORK

Covid numbers looked good. Then a little rise in numbers and now a decline today.

We were down to 4 new cases in York Region a few days ago and now back in the 30s.

Keep getting vaccinated.

Do not be complacent.

Wear that mask.

Wash your hands.

Limit your contacts for just a little longer.

Don't rush into crowds yet.

We are almost to the finish line.

#GETVACCINATED THURSDAY

For all those who are vaccinated, encourage others to do their part.

No time to waste. School goes back in so soon.

September is around the corner.

I do not know about you but I want a safe school year for my grandchildren and everyone else's grandchildren.

So those who are hesitant, get off your butts and get the jab!!

WHY DOES SOMEONE WRITE A MEMOIRE??

Memoires are supposed to be for celebrities right?

Wrong!!

I have been writing Memories of different events in my life.

One for memories of Algonquin Park.

My Italy trips is a work in progress. Ideas for several other themes.

I feel the need to write various activities in my life as a story or memoire! Mostly for me to remember but also for my family.

Grandchildren can not listen to every story every time. Their eyes glaze over. So writing down the little tales of Adolph and my life will give them a picture about us.

I also find it therapeutic. Remembering, adding photos, momentos help to create the Memories of series.

Like Grandpa and his flag. Simple and to the point. One small event that tied with a modern event.

Will I include the memoires here, probably not as they are very long and full of lots of personal photos! There may be personal stuff that does not belong on the Internet!  My blog is for one reason but my memoires are for another.

How about you? Do you write a journal or record personal or family events?

AUGUST FLOWERS

A sea of Black Eyed Susans.

Purple Asters

Downtown Toronto flowers from a previous city jaunt.

My lovely cone flowers with a friendly visitor.

I guess I need to take some more summer pictures. August and its glory.

ANXIETY AND STRESS PREVAIL

As we slowly return to our new normal out of covid lockdowns, the mental health piece has been huge.

Anxiety with a capital A does prevail.

Some are jumping into everything with both feet. But the talk does revolve around the anxiety of the next steps.

Post traumatic stress is only beginning to raise its ugly head.

Knowing what it is and how to cope will be the new buzz words I am sure.

It is like we are all coming out of a war zone here in Canada. But many parts of the world are still facing the full thrust of Covid.

With travel we do not want the variants travelling here. Get anxious about that. Stressful about the travel thing.

Preparing for everything but hoping for the best.

I just like that I had three sleepovers with grandchildren. Three of the Six are double vaxxed. We are waiting for the little ones to be able to be vaccinated.

We are hoping for other people in hot zones to get vaccinated in Ontario. We are hoping for people in poorer countries to get vaccinated.

Even without feeling anxious or stressed it raises its ugly head.

NO VACCINE-YOU GET ILL-IT'S ON YOU

For those of us double vaxxed and clapping for those getting their shots, the tolerance for the anti-vaxxers is nil.

My daughter tells me she is so tired talking about it.

So she suggested. No vaccine and you get the virus- it's on you.

It's your responsibility- period.

Go ahead and risk getting sick and family around you sick.

It's on you- period.

So I will follow her lead. Once I know someone is against vaccinating, I will not discuss it. I will not tolerate it. I will walk away.

I am so glad my family coast to coast has been sensible.

AUGUST AND SUMMER IS MARCHING ON

There birthday and anniversary celebrations in August.

For me August means summer is picking up speed.

Even with the Olympics giving a break to covid talk, I find myself starting to feel mellow about the changes that will be coming.

Shorter days.

Cooler weather.

Kids back to school.

A few days trips planned.

Summer and Christmas are my favourite times of year. May- my favourite month.

So embracing all that August brings and enjoying each day at its fullest.
