Life with its ups and downs needs more love and well heart. Our hearts allow us to live. They beat inside our bodies and blood flows. But metaphorically giving your heart and soul to something means more than just living. It brings joy to those around you. It brings love. It brings support. So bringing lots of heart to the table makes for a meaningful life.

FEBRUARY HEART AND STROKE MONTH ENDING
February usually is the month to think about heart and stroke issues as well as to try to donate to the cause. Trying to eat heart healthy, keep a good weight and exercise are the mantras. Those with diabetes to control their condition and life can prevail. However the longer one lives of course, the more likely health issues will catch up to us all! So what's my point- you have today, enjoy it as much as you can. Some days are better than others! As February ends think about ways to keep well that work for you. Taking up marathon running may not be your thing but mall walking might! Dancing with your partner can be fun and healthy. Actually that is mine. Since my husband's knee is healing, I keep asking when can we go dancing! So February the short winter month, gets us in the mood for Spring which is getting closer. How has your February been?

CHANGE IS GOOD AS A REST
So they say. Trying new things and having change forced on a person are two different things. Dealing with changes, new ideas and restructuring in a workplace sound easy. Everyone has to get on board. Embrace the excitement of the changes. Working long enough many of the new ideas look like recycled old ones. Once told that life is like a circle. By the time one gets to the other side of the circle have to learn again what is on the other side. New clothes are fun. A new car-nice change! Throw out an old couch and get a new one. Try a new restaurant. Some changes can be okay and actually fun. Hey it is a new month.February- Heart and Stroke month. Valentine's Day. Family Day- a Monday off from work. A short month so closer to the change that Spring brings. As long as in the change, one can wear the favourite cardigan for warmth. Or have one's coffee just right! Then- the more things change the more they remain the same!

YOUR HEART VERSUS YOUR HEAD
From the heart or the head, our emotions and feelings can vary. Intellectually we may know something should be done, but we feel otherwise. We use our head to be concrete and analytical. We use our heart to feel. Can the two meet and give us informed decisions? A congruent life! Is it better to live a life feeling? Or is it better living a life with facts? Being able to use all our senses makes a whole person. Daily goals take the head to complete. Relationships take the heart. Oh then what about the soul! A discussion for another time! My head tells me to get going with my day. How about you?

A SILVER LINING WITH HEART AT SOCHI
Tessa and Scott gave us a flawless performance. With judging, the best does not always win! Proud Canadians accept the end result as we do not have sour grapes. We are a polite and caring nation. The clouds have a silver lining! When someone gives us their heart, appreciation and love follow. For them, they felt they did their very best. Thanks Tessa and Scott for making us feel on top of the world!

FEBRUARY-RED WITH LOTS OF HEART
February the month with Heart! All things red to contrast the white of winter. Valentines and sweet messages. A long weekend to break up the month. A short month but often feels longer as the prelude to Spring. Time to finish indoor projects. Perhaps even time to start some outdoor plants in little containers. It lets us know it is not really a new year anymore. We are into the second month! Or is it relief we survived January and the winter blahs! Are we now into the winter rahs? Is there a feeling-we will survive!!! I just know the days are getting longer. Still light at dinner time! The sun seems a little brighter in the sky. For some reason a sense of happiness to be able to face another month. The beginning of any month does bring some sense of hope that good things can happen. I put the previous month to bed and let it rest! How about you? Do you have plans? Do you have some optimism about the month? Do you have plans? I look forward to red, white and pink valentine crafts with the grandkiddies. To what are you looking forward?

HEART TO HEART

Helps us to express our feelings. With February full of heart discussion for a healthy heart- that muscle that keeps us going- why not talk to you from the bottom of my heart. It is always endearing to receive a heart shaped valentine, chocolates or candies. Even if I try to have an open mind about things, you can call me a bleeding heart if you want. If you eat to your heart's content be careful you don't get heartburn. Listen to the signs for a heart attack! Don't want any heart surgery! Artichoke hearts are good appetizers. Do you know any heartless creeps that gave a friend a broken heart? If you have lost a loved one, you have my heartfelt condolences. I know many people that have hearts of gold. Have you ever had a boss with a heart of stone? What about those romantic getaways with a heart shaped tub! Just work hard and put your heart into it! Some people are real heart breakers. What about our little Canadian- Justin Beiber- what a heartthrob for young girls! A baby in the womb is soothed by the Mommy's heartbeat! It is heart warming to know that being heart month that any heartache you may have will be resolved by having a good home. We all know home is where the heart is! Adolph is here laughing at me with a hearty laugh. Do you love someone wholeheartedly?
