Corn is the one vegetable that reminds me of August. Growing in abundance and available everywhere-at farmer markets, supermarkets and at your local farm the freshness is overwhelming. And it is healthy for everyone!
Farmers are baling their hay for the winter. If lucky able to get two crops. Country driving not only gives a chance to buy the fresh fruit and vegetables, there are opportunities to relax, take in the images and of course- take pictures.
So with August upon us, there is an urgency to get out and enjoy. What better way than the beginning of the long weekend- Civic holiday here in Ontario! The highways are already busy with drivers with carloads of family going north to beaches and cottages. Lots of people took the day off to make it a longer weekend. Oh August what delights will you bring us. Inspiring reverence! Admiration! From the Latin Augustus! Looking forward to some birthday and anniversary celebration! Of course lots of good fresh veggie and fruit eating! Hey go out and enjoy August!
