Beaches are everywhere in the world. Just north of Toronto is Wasaga Beach. An easy drive off the 400 highway to make a fun day trip. So joining the kids and grandkids for a few hours before returning to the cottage for lunch was quite enjoyable. There still are stores and places to eat or bring your own cooler of meals and snacks so there is something for everyone. The beach on Georgian Bay which is a part of Lake Huron- one of Ontario's Great Lakes- has room for thousands of people. The water has a flat sandbar where people can walk and stand in the water. Like any lake or large body of water there are spots to be careful. There is a drop to deep water and at one end there is a current or undertow. Since the little children can not swim well enough then it's life jackets for safety for my girls. Children go in the water and out so keeping eyes glued takes real perseverance. I like the way they think safety first. Early morning shows there are few people but by noon the beach is packed. Always fun to be with family! Especially a day at the beach!
