MY GARDEN IS A SEA OF YELLOW

August leading into September brings the last fusion of colour!

Not in my garden but sunflowers can be seen in many places.

So how is your garden?

AROMATIC DAY TRIPS- THE GIVING PLACE

Near Mount Albert Ontario is a sweet farm setting of lavender and honey.

Sundays open to the public one can wonder around and sometimes sit to enjoy the setting.

Lavender farms are so inviting.

2021 AND WOMEN'S RIGHTS ARE STILL ON THE TABLE

Distressing to see the outcome in Afghanistan.

We know women and young girls will take the brunt of it.

No rights.

Arranged marriages of young girls to older men.

Take away schooling etc.

Helpless as an international community.

How to reach out and help those women and children is the dilemma??

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS MAKE THE MONTH HAPPY

Celebrating family birthdays make August fun.

Today one grandson turns 11. Hard to believe time is marching on.

He was the youngest grandchild for awhile until two more came along.

So today he is celebrated with joy.

Cake and pizza last Sunday and a water park visit on Friday to celebrate.

Sort of like celebrating for a week. Lucky kid!!

THINKING OF FOLKS IN BC

The BC fires have been devasyating.

Glen Rosa the subdivision where my folks lived for 35 years is under evacuation alert. There was a fire there in 2009.

Peachland is on alert where my folks are buried in the cemetery there.

Westbank and West Kelowna are under fire seige.

Thoughts and prayers they will get through this. The people there deserve a break and to keep their homes.

FIRST TRIP TO DOWNTOWN TORONTO IN AGES

A day out with two very close friends.

We were supposed to see the MONET Exhibition but it had been changed. Started the next day.

So had taken the UP- Union-Pearson train to Union station beside the Metro Convention Centre.

So walked around.

We had a nice lunch and chat at Scaddabush on Front Street. First time actually eating inside a restaurant. Masks and distancing prevailed.

My Zucca Ravioli was tasty. Buttersquash and cream sauce.

Back with UP and a station pickup to go to my friend's house for coffee and a cupcake. More gabbing before heading home.

MEMORIES OF THE CANADIAN NATIONAL EXHIBITION

 Anyone else missing the EX?

Mid-august and it should be starting.

Second year cancelled because of COVID.

Some fun images from 2019.

Games and rides and food! Lots of food!!

Can you smell the food! It is what I like most about the EX. Eating junk food for a day.

Do you miss it?
