SUMMER TIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY

I love the summer. Even when it is hot. Time to lay back. Read. Enjoy.
My garden is a jungle so some work must be accomplished- slowly and methodically! God Bless weed whackers!!
So where are you going? Europe? South? To the cottage? Camping? A trip to a major city for sightseeing?
Eating ice cream. Barbecues.
For me the Jazz in the Plaza at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Arts starts Tuesdays and runs for 8 weeks. A freebie and well close to home.
There will time with the grandchildren and hopefully some short day trips.
I have no travel plans. Just some markets and shows and festive events- again close to home.

MID JULY ALREADY- OH THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

Summer months come slowly and then start to pass too quickly. So much to do and see in all communities. Mine is enjoying the free Jazz concerts Tuesday night at the Richmond Hill theatre plaza. Local parks have some activities too for the kids and big kids. Just being outside and enjoying a drink at a patio, your own patio or a friend's place. Time to read! Time to slow down and feel the joy of summer time. Even if it is too hot for many!!

FIRST DAY OF SUMMER

The longest day! The summer solstice! The  beginning of the summer brings  a joy and expectation of trips and activities! For some, the hot that they hate. For some, the hot that they love. Swimming and beaches! Canoe or boat rides. Water skiing or tubing! Sailing in a sailboat. More walking or jogging! Family visits! Of course ice cream! Cones at home or at a favourite store. Summer time and the living is easy. Unless one has a garden or a cottage that needs lots of work!

SUMMERTIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY

Is such a wonderful phrase and feeling. People starting to go away, enjoying summer activities and just slowing down. For me, increasing my activity level is usual . On vacation this week and one goal is to power walk with my weights up the hill to the Library every day- 20 minutes, not a big deal. On track, two days, two walks! I see others bike riding, walking, jogging! And of course that low impact exercise- gardening! What will be the summer reading! Newspapers always have so many suggestions. But a good book by the lake, the beach, on the back porch is always a fine summer goal! I have a small pile of unread books- fiction and non-fiction I will attempt to read. It is more difficult to do indoor chores as the outdoors calls me. What do you love about the summer? What are you planning? Do you find the living easy?
