JANUARY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

 A month of birthday celebrations.

It was Adolph's special day on the 7th.

Both Domi and I celebrate on the 22nd.

Some fun stuff from my birthday celebration for 75 years.

The family also put together a video with extended family sending some good toughts and fun wishes.

And I got to eat some good cake.

CELEBRATIONS BRING MIXED EMOTIONS-HAPPY BIRTHDAY

A birthday celebration today for a daughter.

Lots of pictures to post. Cake to eat.

Food.

A happy day.

A day remembering who is not with us to celebrate.

When I look at pictures of my children, I remember their birth, their childhoods, their weddings, babies born.

I remember sharing those times with Adolph. For him not to be here today celebrating with us is bittersweet. Sweet that we had him for so many celebrations. Bitter because he is not here to celebrate more.

Even when he was ill and could not go to the kids' homes, they brought the party to him.

So the good memories with the pictures to remind us of the good times actually keep the memories sweet!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter and joy to her family!

AUGUST BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES

Life goes on with birthday celebrations and anniversaries. Remembering to celebrate all the good times.

Last goodies for Adolph on Father's Day.
A Barbecue toast of orange crush- his favourite at his Celebration of Life tribute.
Celebrations big and small are so wonderful and help to make life so happy and enjoyable.
So August brings several family birthdays and an anniversary. Time to pause and enjoy the moment.

LET HIM EAT CAKE FOR HIS CELEBRATION

A January birthday celebration for a husband, dad and grandpa. Just family but fun to be together. We used the Toronto Maple Leafs as the theme. If no Maple Leaf stuff then wear blue and white. It was good to be together. Not that we needed to eat lots after the Christmas season. So more fruit, veggies, chicken. sweet and hot sausages and pizza was on the menu.
Birthdays are a good way to mark life. They are an opportunity to get together. Eat, drink and yes make him eat cake. The problem is my husband does not like to eat much cake so I get to try to finish it. I am smarter. I cut pieces and freeze for another day.

APRIL- A GREAT START TO THE MONTH

Clean house for Easter dinner. Grandkids, noise and all. Too much to eat. Lots of leftovers. Celebrating a daughter's bday early as it is a couple of days away.
Thinking of the social activities coming up. A tea for a fundraiser. Another birthday celebration. Time to plan and write and finish those winter projects before the garden work begins. A new month. A new beginning.

HOPE THE VALUE WE ALL NEED

Always have hope for a better tomorrow or even today. When God closes a door, he opens a window. Just have the courage to go forward- one foot at a time. One thought at a time! Change your thoughts to positive ones! For every negative memory try to remember two positive ones. We are told to have three things we are happy to have as over time it will change our outlook. So I am happy to have a job on Monday. Happy to celebrate with family often. Happy to have a readership perusing my blog. Oh just three-I could go on. Very few regrets in my life. I have learned if I have a regret just to do the thing I regretted not doing. For example, writing more. Taking on this blog has kept me writing, thinking, creating, looking for ideas and trying to finish those major writing projects in between. So hope is a good thing. It frees the soul to keep going! Are you hopeful? Do you try to keep positive in life?
