WINTER IMAGES

Snow is pretty if you do not have to drive on snowy roads.

Making a heart in the snow!
Snow on trees can be pretty.
A sunny winter day.

A fence gets snowed.
Evergreen trees with snow in the front yard.

Now to drive somewhere and get landscape type photos/

PATIENCE IS A VIRTURE BUT ENOUGH ALREADY

How many Canadians are tired of these trucker protests?

If anyone was committing as many offences that are being done in Ottawa and other places an arrest would occur and you would be hauled off to jail.

What are Child Welfare authorities waiting for?? Children at a protest living in trucks. Parents using their children as weapons so police will not intervene! Who did they think they were fooling?

Vaccines save lives. So let's move on!!

A FLORAL LIKE WALL HANGING USING LEFT OVER PIECES OF MATERIAL

Little scraps of material are a sewer's norm.

So how to use them up.

Making folds in various fabric and almost flower like with the turquoise and white arrangement.

I had a previous project where I did not use the circles cut out. So reused them in this project.

With folds in quarters or halves or bigger the project came to life.

Using burlap which is easy to attach all the pieces.

Now to find a spot to hang it or perhaps save it for another place or gift to someone who appreciates creative different pieces.

Needless to say a lot of little pieces of fabric found a new home.

CRAFTS WITH SCRAPS-A CRAZY QUILT CROCHETED LAP BLANKET

Everyone knitter and crocheter has little balls of left over wool.

What to do!

Some of the hats, scarves and healing blankets.

My crazy quilt style lap blanket with little balls. It came out quite nicely. Almost a square and just right for a lap while seating and reading or doing a craft.

FREEDOM VERSUS PRIVILEGE-MESSAGE TO BE PONDERED

Saw a good conversation on Twitter.

He basically said not one Canadian has not lost any freedom from being unvaccinated. They have lost privileges. So true.

It has always been a privilege to have a driver's license. If rules are not obeyed or too many driving offences the license can be taken away.

If a professional like a doctor, nurse, social worker, dietician, OT, PT, RT and others, all responsible to a college that oversees their practices. If the standards of care are not maintained, their license or registration can be taken away and they will not be allowed to practice in their field.

A passport to go out of the country is a privilege. If a criminal record, one is usually not given.

A visa to other countries is a privilege not a freedom.

Public Health Protocols during this pandemic have been hard mentally on many people. Especially our children and elderly. So finding creative ways to support them is crucial.

However having the virus has been worse on those losing their lives. On the families grieving over a loved one. On people who are Long Haul Covid people.

A democratic society supports lawful protests that do no harm to others. Toronto has seen their fair share on the legislative grounds. I even attended one for Day Care support when my oldest daughter was 4.

Showing a vaccine certificate is easy.

We go through Security at the airport and sometimes have to take off our shoes. Bags searched.

Carry a small purse and have it searched by security at any concert. No problem. Then everyone is safe.

So the basic message. Everyone stays as safe as possible. If I stay safe I help others to stay safe.

I honestly think the bottom line for many protesting people is simple. "No one is going to tell me what to do." No one told me what to do. I felt it was a privilege to be able to have a vaccine in a timely fashion.

I believe in science. I believe in the integrity of our Health Care professionals. As above they are responsible to practice the standards of their professions.

So the privilege of not going to a restaurant, get take out.

So remember 90% of all truckers are vaccinated and as we speak are working to provide goods to Canadians coast to coast to coast.

I have all my freedoms and continue to earn all my privileges.

THE GROUND HOGS HAVE SPOKEN- MORE WINTER, LESS WINTER

Even in the ground hog world there is no agreement.

Wiarton Willie says an early Spring. That is one I want to believe.

Nova Scotia and PA say 6 more weeks of winter.

I am sure there are people in the world who think we are a little crazy to believe what a rodent says.

Just saying!!

FEBRUARY-THE MONTH WITH HEART

February always reminds me of red and hearts and chocolate.

Valentines brings it on.

Black History Month.

A short month so Spring is closer to us.

Time to continue to enjoy the outdoors. Bring on the snow.

Still time for me to continue to try to skate again.

Indoor exercising with walking and weights.

Some cooking and baking to help with mood. The aroma in the house helps to calm the soul.

So what do I want to do with February. Well continue as I have been doing.

Genealogy.

Volunteer activities. Write up some minutes. Find speakers for one group. Read my heritage homework. Write a newsletter.

Of course trying to get out and see places safely.

With a couple of gift cards may venture to a store like Indigo for a shopping trip.

How about you? Any plans for February??
