FRIDAYS- YEAH
What is it about Friday? The day before the weekend. Plans for a dinner out for many people or at least take out to make the start to the weekend pleasurable. Time away from work and colleagues. If bad weather, can stay home. Or take time to get to an event. More shopping- groceries or otherwise! Of course gifts for Christmas and birthdays! Fridays at work are usually busier than other days! Trying to organize the weekend for the people there! Friday let's us know we made it through the week. Getting ready for the plans for the weekend. Time with grandchildren-actually helping with babysitting this weekend! There was a Mama and Papa song about Mondays! Perhaps it is time to write a song about Fridays!

RAINY WEEKENDS IN JUNE
Rain, rain go away, come again another day! A cute rhyme from my childhood! It fits this weekend. The weeds will just keep growing when there is no break to go out in the garden to work on them. Cool rainy summer days are not what we all wanted! Luckily no summer barbecue was planned. Why do rainy days make us all sleepy? Being inside should energize to get the indoor work done. Actually has the opposite effect! Trying to feel motivated to work on something! Or do rainy days allow us to curl up with a blanket and read the novel that needs finishing! Sleep beckons!
But then raindrops on flowers make beautiful pictures.

A WEEKEND TO REMEMBER
With the glorious weekend weather, it was wonderful to be outside. Mostly with the grandchildren as there were two different duties of babysitting. The children with their little shovels helped to spread the piles of brick chips that are from our porch wall that is being dismantled. Smart Nana to leave them! The kids thought they were helping-well they were! Puttering in the garden while watching them. Lots of good food! Adolph made a sauce. It was a weekend that seemed longer than two days which made it even more enjoyable. First visit of the season to the little park, pulling two little boys in the wagon for safety. Rejuvenating to have the time to enjoy the days. Of course the weekend started with another name to put in the maternal side of the family history. My cousin Roy has another beautiful little granddaughter to add to his tree. Even this five day work week does not seem too intolerable. What are you planning to do? Are you ready for the week?

THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY
Or TGIF as we say to our many colleagues on a Friday. For some Friday is just the start of a weekend shift. For most it is the start of our beloved weekends. Why do we all try to put a week's worth of fun into two days? Waking Saturday morning knowing it is the weekend! Of course for the retirees it does not have the same significance anymore! My weekends are spent with grandchildren, trying to catch up with the many household tasks and enjoying my interests. I have learnt to try to spread the mundane things like laundry, mopping floors and decluttering over the week. An hour here and there does feel so burdensome. How do you enjoy the Friday before your weekend? Are you glad it just arrived? Here's to Friday and the opportunity to have a break from our regular work week.
