Oh the Fall in Ontario with the Sunflowers abounding in the gardens.
In duets!
Or in nice clusters on lawns and gardens.
With barn boards in the background!
Buying bouquets for those festive fall tables.
The happy flower.
In Italian- Gira al sole- turn to the sun. Even art work on buildings like the York Farmer's Market.
So as Fall is upon, perhaps I will seek out more pictures and images of the lovely Sunflower for this 150!
Welcome
Inspiration for this blog came from my cousin Roy. His daily reflections of the events in his life have been thoughtful and interesting. Family, friends, colleagues are welcome to read my blog.

NANA SAYS CHILDREN ARE LIKE A FIELD OF SUNFLOWERS
Life without children would be very boring. Fun, loud, busy, demanding and hope for the future. They take time to grow tall. Starting from a small seed, they grow and change in front of our eyes. the baby year goes too quickly, the toddler year so busy then the talking and learning. Before we know it tall like the sunflower, turning during the day to face the sun. We can be like the sun helping our children learn and grow. A happy flower that is beautiful and provide food!

THE SUNFLOWER-THE HAPPY FLOWER
The sunflower is the happy flower. The ones in the garden have grown big and can be enjoyed even after the first frost. For any Fall table, they make a beautiful centerpiece. In our area there were fields of sunflowers that have been marketed for their seeds as well as cut flowers. Do you think it is a happy flower too?

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS

In our hurried lives that can be filled with stress and the daily activities that stretch and pull us, it is wise to stop and "count your blessings". There are songs, movies and books that often play this theme. For me, just the fact I have made it to 60. So many people I have known have passed away in their 40's, 50's. My husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends. My ability to keep going when "the going gets tough." I have a purpose to get up every day and try to achieve some worthwhile goals which always include to do at least one kindness to a stranger. In Italian, sunflower means gira a sole- turn to the sun. If we use our blessings well, we too can turn to the sun for warmth, strength, inspiration and find solace-our blessings.
In your life what are your blessings? How there been times you struggle to feel blessed?
