MY BACKYARD IS LIKE A JUNGLE THEN I SAW THE BEAUTIFUL YELLOW BUTTERFLY

My flower beds along the paths in my backyard are very overgrown.

No one really goes in my yard anymore so I like it a little bit wild.

I try to keep the paths clear.

In a few weeks I will start to trim the edges of the paths in a plan to cut back everything over the summer.

But today sitting in my family room and looking out the sliding door I saw a beautiful yellow butterfly going from on purple flower to the next.

Quiet.

Unassuming.

Nature at its best.

Some people try to smell the roses. I stop and watch the butterflies.

BUTTERFLIES IN A CANADIAN GARDEN

A wild garden attracts many different natural beings. Butterflies are one. I captured this one.
There was another one mostly black that I did not get a photo.
I love this photo. However, who know what kind of butterfly is getting nectar from one of my purple flowers.
My Monarch ones that visit. I have the Milk Weed plant for them.
Of course there have been little white butterflies fleeting around in the front and the back. I am still trying to get their picture. The life of a photographer is not easy. Nature does not always cooperative.

FINDING THE COLOUR PURPLE

Purple can be found in many items and locations. A beautiful car at a recent event.

In many gardens, where the purple and yellow flowers attract butterflies. A colour of royalty, passion and healing. Of course some people just love the colour!

THE DAFFODIL

Is the April symbol for cancer and hope. It actually grows in the garden closer to May. Daffodils are just one of many Spring bulbs that are anticpated with joy every year after a long winter. Laying dormant under the snow, they come alive at the same time every year. We take so much for granted in our lives. Nature sure does have a way of keeping us humble. Bulbs pop through the ground when they are ready. Birds arrive from the south on cue. Butterflies flock back to us. The cycle of life that comes alive in the Spring. How is your garden growing? Are you watching for the arrival of the Spring growth? Do you ever marvel at the rhythm of nature?

THE FALL OF OUR LIVES

When we reflect on the seasons it often can coincide with the stages of our lives. Fall always brings images of middle age. Remorse summer is over and the uncertainity of what type of Fall. Will it be an Indian Summer with warm days mingled around the cool nights? Will the harvest be bountiful? The trees in their changing colours- will they be beautiful? We say goodbye to many birds and butterflies as they head south but prepare to help feed the ones that remain year round. Fall can bring the rewards of all the seasons. As our relationships change with people in our lives- children have moved out and started families, friends downsize and perhaps relocate, some important members pass away- we tend to value our loved ones more. It can be a time to decide what do I really want to do with the rest of my life. An urgency to complete some projects and a desire to start some new ones. A time to reconnect with people in our lives. Visit old haunts. A time to decide life is really worth living and live it. How do you feel about Fall? Does it bring different images to you? Are you younger but look at the folks in your life hoping they are enjoying their accomplishments? Are you in the Fall of your life?
