DECEMBER 21- FIRST DAY OF WINTER

And the shortest day. Only 4 more sleeps until Christmas! The Winter Solstice is the reason many celebrations occur around this time of year- to bring light to the dark. Some of our Christmas festive times have roots in past centuries. Wonderful that humans connect with other times. Perhaps Jung was correct with his collective unconscious. Or is it just our gene pool? Sometimes we think of the winter of our life! Seniors anyway do! Winter can be just as much fun as the other seasons depending on how it is approached. Some sprend the whole winter down south, somewhere warm! Indoor and outdoor activities abound. It is also the day a dear friend died so many years ago, so we do think of Larry! Spending time to enjoy the events of the season. Connecting and reflecting- not a bad concept! So what do you do the first day of winter? Do you have special rituals? Or are you just looking forward to December 22 when the sun is starting to come back to us!
