FENWICK ONTARIO HAS A BEAUTIFUL TULIP FARM

A day out to the Niagara area, brought my daughter and me to a beautiful tulip farm.

Pick your own tulips.

10 included with the price of the admission ticket.

Seeing the field of tulips was the next best thing to being in Holland.

Love the purple ones.

The bike sent to the owner from a friend in Holland made a nice prop for pictures.

We went on May 7 which is the anniversary of the liberation of Holland during World War Two.

May 7, 1945 the Canadians went into Holland amongst cheers and celebrations from the people there.

Getting home I put my tulips in water.

A fun day out with a daughter.

YONGE STREET IMAGES IN RICHMOND HILL

Yonge Street was created in the 1790s by Lord Simcoe.
Richmond Hill was one of the many locations on its journey from the south in Toronto going north.
As a resident of the area for many decades. Moved here in 1962 with my family until my marriage in 1971.
Then built our house on Addison Street in 1986.
So by 2022 I have seen many changes along the street.

Standing on the back porch of 14 May Avenue in 1983, the field along Yonge Street is visible. The church towers can be seen in the distance. Our house was built in the back of the property that we bought.

View from hill at library. Yonge and Harding.
Pathway from library to Yonge and Major Mackenzie

Years of construction for the YRT transit!!

I have been searching my photo database for more photos of Yonge Street in Richmond Hill.
Decided to post this segment today.
I do want to write a more progressive story on Yonge Street in the Hill.

MAY-THE MONTH OF TULIPS

I love tulips and they start to appear everywhere.

All colours and types.

At homes and in public places.

Tulips in a bunch or single or large garden really works.

Harbourfront gardens May 15 2016 on an Anniversary outing. Number 45.

My front garden.

Next groupings are from a day trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake May 2019.

So May full of tulips. That treasure from the Dutch.

Do you like tulips?

ABORTION RIGHTS-ROE VS WADE-WHAT TO THINK

Abortion laws have been around for decades.

Safety for women so that illegal ones do not occur with dire consequences.

Thought- if you do not want an abortion then do not have one..

Try for safe sex and good birth control.

But if rape, incest, health of mom at risk then for some that choose then abortion may be the option.

Some one said all those men that did not want a vaccine for covid as it was their choice, hoping they are now rallying around women about free choice for their bodies.

I am a promoter of sex education, accessible birth control, safe sex and creating a society where women and men can not be victims of rape.

Every pregnancy a wanted pregnancy. If a woman chooses to carry her baby but does not feel she can raise the child then safe options to find a new home for baby. For both mother and baby.

For me what I will do as a personal choice does not mean everyone else must have the same opinion.

I just shake my head. It is the year 2022 and the same old argument is here.

Then to think that one political party in particular has told its members not to have a viewpoint on the topic and stay quiet.

Not very encouraging if we are calling ourselves a democracy!

Debate is healthy. But women's health must be healthy too.

What are your thoughts? This is a heavy topic. Not easy answers are there?

Fear for many. If it is happening in America, it could happen here.

FOURTH DOSE- VACCINES WORK

So being over 60, I received my second booster or 4th dose of my Covid-19 vaccine yesterday.

One friend said she did not want to become a pin cushion.

But if Pubic Health and viable medical personnel recommend it then I was game.

I have a couple of regular vaccines to be updated so a visit to my doctor is next.

So how about you? Are you feeling okay?

MAY-THE MONTH THAT HERALDS THE WARMER WEATHER

May is the great awakening of nature.

Trees go from brown to full foilage.

More spring flowers emerge.

Tulips abound in various stages and colours.

More walking.

More sitting outside.

My first bloomers showing colour. Love it.

How do you feel about May?
