LIFE IS LIKE A PIECED QUILT

One patch or one item does not give the whole picture of our lives. We can be different characters at different times. Put all together it is a life.
Sometimes we need to keep clear boundaries.

Sometimes we tell the story.

Sometimes our lives are just so colourful.
What would your quilt be like? What would it say about you? What would you include?

IF LIFE GIVES YOU SCRAPS

Make quilts. Colourful scraps of material and even pieces from old clothes were used in older times to make quilts that became blankets on many beds. The designs are traditional to different areas of North America. Applique, pieced, traditional and modern designs- hand quilted with small stitches, usually 7 to an inch or done by machine, quilts are beautiful works of art. Using triangles, blocks, strips of fabric each quilt can be its own masterpiece. One single block can not tell the story but many blocks sewn together in designs like the log cabin quilt in the photo give a larger picture. Life is like a bunch of scraps- we take the pieces and make our own unique quilt! If you could make a quilt about yourself, would it be tradtional? Or would your theme be more reflective of you and your life with significant objects included? What colours would be your pallet? Would you use plain fabric or try several designs together? Our quilt of life can be very interesting!
