Having a robin's nest on our evestrough has made watching mother nature interesting. The mommy robin sits on the nest with the eggs while the daddy robin guards his family. Once the babies hatch, both forage for food. They take turns feeding the little ones. It is cute to watch them with the little beaks in the air waiting to be fed. Apparently once they are ready to leave the nest, the daddy robin helps teach them to fly. So in the natural world for many species both parents play a role. Not always the same role but shared parenting. Children benefit and need both parents. Remember that!
