TO ROBBIES EVERYWHERE

Well it's Robbie Burns Day. To Scotsmen it is a special day. I have been to a Robbie Burns Dinner/Dance once or twice in my life. Danced the "Gay Gordon" and listened to Ode to the Haggis. The name Robert is a strong name. Have a brother by that name. A cousin in Italy is Roberta- the feminine version of the name. Love Robert Redford and his movies. What about those other actors- Robert Di Niro and Robert Duvall. Baseball players- Roberto Alomar and Roberto Clemente. Books by Robert Ludlum have been so enjoyable. A famous Kennedy- Robert. From Germanic roots in the Middle Ages the name means bright fame. Do you have a favourite Robert in your life? Have you ever read the poetry by Robbie Burns? Here's to Rob, Bob, Robbie, Bobbie!

  1. ... and, of course, Robert Frost, the poet, who said love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired.
